This August, renowned Sydney chef Danielle Alvarez takes residence at Kittawa Lodge for her first culinary collaboration since departing as head chef at Fred’s Paddington.  

With six three-night packages for two people, Kittawa Lodge and Danielle have curated the ultimate food and luxury experience, with Danielle personally cooking for guests in their lodge. 

With just six packages available, experience intimate private dinners by Danielle Alverez while encountering the beautiful and spectacularly remote Kittawa Lodge.  

With two luxurious lodges, each sleeping two guests, exclusive use can be arranged for friends or family, with up to four guests across the two lodges, making the ultimate culinary getaway. 

A little bit about Kittawa Lodge

A secluded, ocean front 96-acre property on King Island, the award-winning Kittawa Lodge offers refined boutique accommodation, with panoramic views of the untouched rugged coastal landscape.

Completely off-grid, each lodge is architecturally designed to maximise your connection to the outdoors while minimising exposure to the elements.

A little bit about the package

Danielle will cook private dinners for guests in their lodge as well as a dinner offsite in an exclusive and unique location.  A selection of Tasmanian wines, beers and spirits are included throughout guests’ stay and matching Tasmanian wines will be served with each dinner.  

Every night, guests can learn from the award-winning chef as she takes you through her signature farm-to-table cooking, using the world-renowned and seasonal produce of King Island.  

A little bit about Danielle Alvarez

Danielle is an American-born chef living in Australia.  Moving in 2014, Danielle worked with restaurant group Merivale to launch Fred’s, a neighbourhood restaurant that broke the barrier between guest and chef.  

With Danielle anchoring her open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, guests could feel like they stepped into a friend’s home.  

Danielle’s cooking focuses on using small scale organic producers for seasonal cooking, which aligns well with Kittawa Lodge’s ethos of storytelling through championing local produce.

Choose from six three-night packages, with two packages offered for each of the following dates:

Packages 1 and 2:  17 to 20 August 2022

Packages 3 and 4:  20 to 23 August 2022

Packages 5 and 6:  23 to 26 August 2022

Each package comprises:

  • 3 nights’ accommodation for up to two adults in one lodge.
  • Daily gourmet breakfast provisions by Danielle Alvarez and Kittawa Lodge.
  • Daily lunch provisions by Kittawa Lodge.
  • Two four-course dinners cooked in your lodge by Danielle Alvarez.
  • One group dining experience offsite on King Island cooked by Danielle Alverez, with return transfers to the experience.
  • Kittawa Lodge scented candle gift box, handcrafted by The Raconteur.

International wines can be arranged prior to a guests stay for an additional fee.
